Meet ELEKTRA

BIO
Elektra is a five-year-old bay roan mare out of Devil’s Garden. She came to us from a rescue called Spirit Wings Ranch in Santa Rosa in April 2025 with Willow. Elektra has been under saddle for about 6 months now. She has more “whoa than go”. She is a friendly, in-your-pocket type horse. She is calm but green. She still needs to learn some more finesse in her arena work, but she is quickly gaining confidence on the trail.
elektra STORY
Elektra hails from a place as formidable as it is beautiful. Early settlers called it “Devils Garden” for its lava-strewn ground, sparse forage, and twisted juniper forests—terrain so rugged it looked, to them, like a place only the devil could cultivate. For generations, wild horses have called it home, but their herd is under constant siege. To accommodate private livestock operations on public lands, the U.S. Forest Service has rounded up wild horses in Devils Garden nearly every year—drastically reducing their numbers.
